MIESCOR Infrastructure Development Corporation (MIDC), in collaboration with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) and other tower companies, joined the 4th Telco Workshop on August 14, 2024 in Makati City. With the theme “Navigating in Depths: Innovation and Challenges in the Telco Sector,” the workshop brought together key industry players to address critical issues in telecommunications.
During the event, Mr. Ricky James Steyn, MIDC’s COO and Interim President and CEO, emphasized two pressing issues in the telecommunications sector:
– Homeowner Association Policies: He urged the need for clear regulations to ensure telecom services reach all areas, noting that uncooperative homeowner associations often hinder site development and connectivity improvements.
– Land Lease and Right of Way Agreements: He emphasized the importance of standardizing agreements with landowners to prevent excessive fees and construction delays, ensuring smoother infrastructure rollout.
MIDC’s involvement in the workshop underscores its commitment to ARTA’s mission of eliminating red tape and fostering a more efficient regulatory environment, vital for advancing the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure.
